10 Interesting Facts You Should Know About Fast-Rising African Female Footballer, Susan Ama Duah

Susan Ama Duah is a Ghanaian footballer who plays in the Centreback position for Avaldsnes FC in The Toppserien, the top-level women's football league in Norway. She is one of the footballers who recently received a call-up to the Ghanaian U20 Women National team, also known as the Black Princesses. She will be part of the team representing Ghana at the U-20 Women World Cup.in Costa Rica next month, from the 10th to 28th of August, 2022.

1) Susan Ama Duah was born on the 3rd of February, 2022, in her hometown of Begoro, the capital of Fanteakwa district, in the eastern region of Ghana. She is 20 years old.

2) She has always wanted to play football from a young age. Because she found it challenging to combine football with her education in high school, she decided to pursue her football career after high school instead of continuing her education.

3) Before she got the call-up to the U20 World Cup squad, she had played for Ghana in the U17 world cup qualifiers from 2017 to 2018.








4) Apart from Ghana -Valued Queens FC- where she began her football career, Susan has played for clubs in three different countries, namely; Delta Queens-Nigeria (2019), Gokulam Kerala FC Women - India (2020-21), and Avaldsnes FC -Norway (2022-date).

5) Unlike other footballers with hobbies or interests outside football, Susan doesn't have any and is entirely focused on football.

6) Her role model in football is Maria Pilar Leon, who plays as a defender (centreback) for FC Barcelona Women and the Spanish Women National team, and is dubbed the 'Carles Puyol' in women's football. She hopes to join Barcelona someday and be like her. She also looks up to Spanish footballer and PSG defender Sergio Ramos.









7) Susan was voted the 'Player of the Match' in a game against Rosenberg in the Toppserien league in May 2022.

8) She dreams of working with the famous sportswear brands Nike and Adidas because of their commendable efforts in supporting Women's football.

9) She values helping the less privileged and hopes to support her brother's foundation/charity by feeding the poor/homeless every Christmas in her hometown, Begoro and other parts of Ghana.

10) Because of her love for football, Susan hopes to end up in coaching after she has retired from playing football. For her, it is an opportunity to encourage and support young girls and women who want to follow in her footsteps and play football like her.
